How am amazing to see the beauty and poetry that Dan can share with us even in the worst of times. Thank you for sharing your heart and your tears with us. Even though most of us didn’t know LEBO, Dan made him real to us through that gracious tribute.
You can see what a writer Dan was/is and why he became our favorite listen over the years. As I age and see more people my age and younger passing away and not knowing what to say, I now can try to be better to families who lost a loved one. I did not know Lebo as I live in Pittsburgh, but Dan shared with us who he was, and I feel proud to be a very small part of the LeBatard family and friends. May the Lord be with you, your wife, your sister-in-law and family, and double set of prayers to your Mom & Dad who must have saddened to see a child leave his earth before them. Valerie, please take care of Dan outside of work hours and Greg, Roy, Mike, Chris, Billy, Amin, Pablo, Tony, Jessica, Mina, Fox, Allyson, Mina, Izzy, Skip, Fancy Lad, Charlotte, Lucy, Ron Magill, and hope I did not forget anyone. Not sure any of us deserve you sharing this with us. I cried when you announced it on air and selfishly all i could think about was my relationship with my brother we still have each other but i cried for you because i never want to know that pain. But you like you always famously do you ate the grief and you metabolized it (i swear this isn't a fat joke) But you took that grief and you let it flow through you and shared with us even more. i never met you or your brother Dan but i saw your love for him and thats a commonality between you and i. Im grateful for you and the gang i want you to know people you never met love you man SIP Lebo

I just read it to my two kids. We cried together. What a send off.
